Working out of my home studio in Peterborough Ontario, I create small pieces of art as well as jewellery, using a variety of enamelling and metal smith techniques. I use copper, fine silver and sterling silver in my pieces, often incorporating gold accents and detail. I try to strike a balance between boldness and eclectic delicacy in my work.
My exposure to art began at an early age, through my mother’s oil paintings and batiks. As a child I was drawn to the different and varied cultures around me. This fascination with the beauty of diversity — its colours, textures and possibilities — continues to influence me and my work, as does sailing the seas with my nomadic seafaring father and his wife.
My motivation comes from a philosophy of what can be achieved through curiosity, experimentation and an open mind.
